Founded in 1978, by Lyn and Chuck Peple, and the help of their daughters, Jane and Max, Grayhaven is one of the oldest independent commercial vineyards in Virginia. What started as a retirement venture for the Peples steadily grew as a family business, and it remains family owned and operated.
The winery at Grayhaven was launched in 1994, producing hand-crafted wines from vinifera and French hybrid grapes. Nestled in the heart of Virginia wine country, Grayhaven continues to produce “Old World” style wines that celebrate the many facets of varietal character expressed with each vintage year. Pinotage, Marechal Foch, Sauvignon Blanc, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Traminette, and Cayuga are among the many estate-grown varieties. Come meet the three generations of this winemaking family.
